Wednesday, October 7th, 2009The Bridge ministry of our LifeGroup (Clark) is teaching Chinese students from UTD to pronounce English. They are very eager to speak English well and constantly give us positive feedback. Our real motivation is telling them there is a God who loves them. Most of them have never heard there is a God. They are very receptive and many have begun a relationship with Jesus and have been baptized. When they go back to China, they will take the message with them. As a result, we are missionaries to China without being there. The main class is at Chase Oaks during the first service Sunday morning. This class has resulted in several smaller classes on campus with students that don’t come to church. Our LifeGroup is revitalized. When we meet together, we talk with excitement about what God is doing.
“It is amazing to see how eagerly LifeGroups answer a call to help those less fortunate. God calls us to love our neighbors and I see, first-hand, the people of Chase Oaks honoring Him in this way. I love what I do because I get to witness people in this church joyfully responding to needs of others.”
“We love our LifeGroup! Few of us knew each other before first meeting at Grouplink. But now members of our LifeGroup are our best friends at Chase Oaks. God has blessed us with loving fellowship in our group, and has spread that love to others through our bridge events.”
“The best part of LifeGroup is the discussion questions. Sharing our experiences of our walk with God encourages all of us to continue with our commitment to Christ as we travel the path of life together.”
“The thing I love the most about serving as the AC is being a part of seeing families and individuals enjoy growing in Chase Oaks. I have seen groups support their own families through tragedy, through health issues and in reaching out to serve the community together. The bonds that form in these groups are unique and build trust and love among the members of the LifeGroup.”
