The Bridge ministry of our LifeGroup (Clark) is teaching Chinese students from UTD to pronounce English. They are very eager to speak English well and constantly give us positive feedback. Our real motivation is telling them there is a God who loves them. Most of them have never heard there is a God. They are very receptive and many have begun a relationship with Jesus and have been baptized. When they go back to China, they will take the message with them. As a result, we are missionaries to China without being there. The main class is at Chase Oaks during the first service Sunday morning. This class has resulted in several smaller classes on campus with students that don’t come to church. Our LifeGroup is revitalized. When we meet together, we talk with excitement about what God is doing.

A Shining Star from Heaven

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Paula Mizer is a dear friend of mine and I would really like to see her and her husband interviewed for I Am Chase Oaks. They have been long-time members and currenty serve in the Kidzone and a LifeGroup. Paula is the most Christ-like person I have met. She always has an open heart and a very prayful attitude. They have had many struggles in their personal life, but she continues to be a shining star from Heaven…

Roger and Sharon Duarte — Coffee Team

Friday, May 8th, 2009

We have been members of this church for 27 years and have served on the coffee team for 23 of those years! We surprise ourselves that after 45 years of marriage, we can still work together! We love to accommodate those that need their cup of coffee first thing in the morning! Our reward is seeing the happiness our service brings to others.

Todd Baughman — Kidzone

There are too many things I love about being on the Kidzone Door Team. I get to greet every family and kid as they enter Kidzone, and see the smiling faces when they leave. I am there to help keep the Kidzone area safe and secure, I get to show new families where to go, and help a shy kid with a high five. I also love having the best boss ever, (no not you Jim). Because when you serve, you’re really working for God.
